2018 – complete

#architecture #gardendesign
A garden with an irregular shape running along two sides of a house with some trees to be retained. How do you make it more attractive and connected to the house itself? That was the challenge during the design process. The result is a garden consisting of platforms on different levels, characterised by different materials. Small stones in Dutch “waalformaat” on the lowest level, raised green shrubs along the garden’s perimeter wall, in a gradual transition from built to natural elements. The distinctive feature of the garden is a corten steel that covers the edges of the platforms and winds along the top of the perimeter wall. Its rusty appearance perfectly matches the old red bricks of the house’s facade.
