Light determines the way we perceive a space. Proper use of artificial lighting can create the right atmosphere and transform any space into an experience. This is one of the goals that B3D pursues in its vision that combines architectural forms and lighting effects.

We understand how important light is in our daily lives, both at home and at work, in restaurants, in public squares and so on. B3D specializes in:

Lighting plans on different scales (buildings, but also just a few rooms) in various sectors such as

residential, retail, catering, hospitality, offices, for both private and business customers

Electrical plans

completely new electrical plans, but also adjustments and integration of existing ones

Home automation

"smart" solutions and systems to control and monitor lights (such as Casambi, Philips Hue), but also other parameters such as temperature, alarm, music and so on (such as KNX)

Business-to-business lighting projects (B2B)

tailor-made lighting projects on request for other professionals

How we work :

We want to provide our customers with a lighting and electrical design that meets their requirements and budget. We therefore proceed with an initial no-obligation interview to understand requirements and then develop a quote that may include some or all of the following:

2D lighting design

2D preliminary concept on a floor plan showing the position of luminaires, together with a mood board showing the type of lamps proposed and the lighting effects; 2D working drawings and cable plan for the installer to start preparing the work, such as making holes in the ceiling for recessed spotlights

2D electrical plan

2D floor plan including the position of sockets, switches and other connections such as data, WiFi, alarm, TV, speakers and so on

Offers

cost estimate for the lamps and their accessories, with an overview of all items

Delivery

delivery of the ordered lamps of the brands of which we are dealers, subject to the customer's approval

Home automation programming

assistance in programming the chosen home automation system, personally or through our external employees

We also have an interim meeting for the lighting projects to discuss the draft lighting plan before we continue with the working drawings.

Regarding the lighting plans and home automation systems, it is important to mention that B3D works with various brands from many suppliers and in collaboration with other professionals. There are several solutions to implement a lighting plan. Do you want to control the lighting from your smartphone or tablet? Everything is possible. But what works best for you? By listening carefully to your wishes, we will come up with the smartest solution together.

Lighting design packages

A complete lighting plan is not always necessary to change the atmosphere of a room. For example, sometimes the existing connection points are already in the correct position, but new lamps would greatly improve the overall appearance of the room.

That is why, as an alternative to a total lighting project, we also offer some tailor-made lighting design consultancy packages to suit every need. Our packages may include some or all of the following:

  • Draft lighting plan (with indication on the map of the position and type of lamps)
  • Advice for new lamps
  • on-site consultancy

Vacancies

Due to the growth of beautiful projects, we are looking for an enthusiastic colleague, an architectural draftsman. Someone who can support and relieve the work of the four current architects in all phases of the process.

We are looking for an architectural draftsman with:

  • an architectural background
  • knowledge of the Building Decree
  • experience working with AutoCAD, Revit is a plus, Sketchup, Adobe Suite
  • a good command of the Dutch language in word and writing
  • a good command of the English language
  • good communication skills
  • flexible attitude
  • structure
  • out of the box – ideas
 

Salary is in accordance with the collective agreement and depends on age and experience.
The number of hours can be determined in consultation.

Internship

We invite candidates who are currently studying architecture, interior design or lighting design at university level to apply as an intern. We also welcome recent graduates participating in the Erasmus+ internship program.

 

Requirements:

  • Excellent design and CAD skills
  • Knowledge of Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • 3D rendering skills (Sketchup, Revit is a plus)
  • Able to work in an international team
  • Written proof of enrollment at a university or academy or
  • Written proof of participation in the Erasmus+ internship program
  • Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus)
